Team GenX H4CK3RS, led by Jayadithya G and consisting of U Pranov Shanker, Adhithya Srivatsan, Rohit K Manoj, Harini A and Ankith Vijayyan, won the second place at the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2024.
They developed LINGUA, a language for the hearing impaired. They had to adapt to different social use cases and develop an application that seamlessly converts speech to ISL and vice versa. The usage was divided into three groups – children, adults and elderly, ensuring inclusivity and practicality for different age groups.
Their design was selected, and they represented Shiv Nadar University Chennai at Shobhit University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. In Meerut, in addition to enduring harsh weather conditions that were in stark contrast to those in Chennai, they did their best and came in second after three intensive rounds of jury evaluation.
