We are delighted to share that our team, SORTABOT, has been selected among the Top 40 teams from over 3,500 registrations across 27+ states in the prestigious i2I (Ideas to Innovation) Challenge 2025, hosted by Wipro Earthian and IIT Madras.
 As part of this recognition, the team has been awarded a ₹50,000 grant to build and demonstrate their proof of concept.

Our students have developed SORTABOT ,an innovative smart mobile construction and demolition (C&D) waste segregation system that tackles one of India’s most pressing environmental challenges. India generates over 150 million tonnes of C&D waste annually, yet only a fraction is scientifically processed or recycled. SORTABOT aims to bridge this gap by enabling on-site, efficient, and automated segregation of materials such as concrete, wood, ceramics, metals, and plastics, promoting circular construction practices and reducing landfill accumulation.

This achievement reflects the relentless dedication and creativity of our students ,Indhumathi Sivashanmugam (3rd Year, IoT-A), M. Harinee (3rd Year, IoT-A), Manogar C (3rd Year, IoT-A), and Pranav R. P (3rd Year, IoT-B) who have worked together to turn their vision into a viable sustainability solution.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our faculty mentor, Mr. Madhankumar P, and our former Assistant Professor, Dr. Vaishali Choudhary, for their invaluable guidance, mentorship, and constant support throughout this journey. Their insights and encouragement played a pivotal role in shaping the direction and impact of SORTABOT.
