After the phenomenal success of the maiden Inter Collegiate Basketball Tournament, Shiv Nadar University Chennai hosted the second League cum Knockout Independence Day Cup Tournament at its indoor basketball stadium over two days on October 28 and 29, 2024.
The top 12 teams from various universities in Tamil Nadu were divided into four different groups and an intense knockout face-off followed. The leading four teams showed impeccable enthusiasm and made it to the semi-finals.
The penultimate round was mesmerizing for the spectators and players alike. Shiv Nadar University and Sri Venkateshwara College advanced to the finals and the extraordinary zeal of the Shiv Nadar University squad ensured that they won the trophy, with the match ending in their favour by 66-54.

The esteemed Chief Guest, Registrar Dr. N. Nallusamy distributed trophies, cash prizes and certificates to the winners of the event. Overall, the Independence Day Cup was a huge success and an ethereal moment for the entire University. We hope to bring back the event on a greater scale in 2025.
