Inaugural HR Conclave at Shiv Nadar University Chennai
Shiv Nadar University Chennai hosted its first ever HR Conclave on 31 January 2026. Titled “Parichay – Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future of Workforce,” the conclave saw participation from over 20 organisations, including L&T Finance, Reliance Jio, TimesPro, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited, Welspun Group, Tietoevry, Volvo, UPS India Technology Center, NTT Data, and others. The event, centred on the Commerce and Economics domains, brought together industry leaders to discuss the evolving future of work.
Welcoming the delegates, Prof. Sriman Kumar Bhattacharyya, Vice Chancellor of the university, shared insights into the institution’s vision and encouraged industry-academia collaboration. He emphasised the university’s commitment to academic excellence and its focus on building strategic partnerships to enable cutting-edge curriculum design, collaborative research, and enhanced career opportunities for students.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Ashwin Ravindranath, Partner at Ernst & Young, who spoke about EY’s positive experience with graduates from the university. He encouraged students to continuously upgrade their skills to stay relevant in an ever-evolving job market.
The conclave featured engaging panel discussions on:
- Curriculum to Capability: Making Graduates Workforce-Ready from Day One
- Redefining Careers in Data Analytics: Future-Proofing Skills as Currency in the AI Economy
- Careers in the Age of AI
These panels, moderated by faculty and students, explored the intersection of education, industry needs, and technological advancements.
It was an interactive event, attended by Dr. N. Nallusamy, Registrar, along with Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, and students from the Department of Commerce and Department of Economics.
In the end, the conclave reminded everyone that the future isn’t about AI replacing people, but about people growing alongside it and using it to do better, more meaningful work.
