Blockchain-Assisted Secure Cyber-Physical Systems

Overview: Cyber-physical systems (CPS) have grown significantly in importance in today’s quickly expanding technological environment as a result of their integration of physical processes with computer and communication components. A major concern is assuring the security, reliability, and resilience of CPS as they grow increasingly linked and data-driven way. In order to manage data, transactions, and interactions in a safe and transparent manner, blockchain technology has arisen as a viable solution to these problems. In order to improve security and dependability, this workshop will examine/showcase the blockchain and CPS interaction-cum-potential. Objectives: This workshop is designed to: Provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of cyber-physical systems and their security challenges. Introduce participants to the fundamentals of blockchain technology and its applicability in enhancing CPS security. Explore real-world use cases where blockchain-assisted CPS has demonstrated improved security and data integrity. Foster discussions on the integration of blockchain with CPS, covering technical, implementation, and operational aspects. Facilitate hands-on sessions and group activities to encourage practical insights and problem-solving. Workshop Topics: Introduction to Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS): Definition, components, and characteristics of CPS. Security challenges and vulnerabilities in CPS. Fundamentals of Blockchain Technology: Basics of blockchain, decentralized ledgers, and consensus mechanisms. Immutability, transparency, and tamper-resistance in blockchain.
