A team of students from Shiv Nadar University Chennai, Code Alchemists, secured First Place at the IntelliTrace Hackathon 2026, conducted as part of the PSBs Hackathon Series 2026 at VIT Chennai in association with Indian Bank. The team was awarded a cash prize of ₹2.5 lakh for their innovative solution in the Multi-tier Supply Chain Fraud Detection category.

The team developed Sherlock, a real-time fraud detection system for Supply Chain Finance that identifies sophisticated fraud patterns before funds are disbursed. By combining rule-based validation with graph-based relationship analysis, Sherlock detects complex fraud scenarios such as phantom invoices, carousel trades, and cross-tier cascade fraud across multiple levels of a supply chain.

The achievement highlights the team’s innovative approach to solving real-world financial challenges and reflects Shiv Nadar University Chennai’s commitment to fostering technology-driven, industry-relevant solutions through experiential learning and innovation.
