Dr. P. Venugopal M.Sc., M.Phil., PhD.
Dr. P. Venugopal is a Professor of Mathematics with 30 years of teaching experience, including 15 years in research. He has been with SSN from its inception and previously served as the head of the Department of Mathematics at SSN before joining Shiv Nadar University (SNU) in Chennai. He earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and M.Phil. degrees from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) in Trichy, which is affiliated with Bharathidasan University. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Madras. He received the “Rev. Fr. Racine Award” in 2007 from Loyola College, Chennai, for being the best research student in the Department of Mathematics during his Ph.D. studies. He qualified for the State Level Educational Testing (SLET) for lectureship in May 2000, conducted by Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirappalli, which is UGC-accredited. He has been honoured with the Best Teacher Award from SSN Institutions three times.
He has published several research papers in refereed international journals and has presented at various national and international conferences. Notable presentations include the 5th Asian Mathematical Conference (AMC 2009) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from June 22-26, 2009; the International Conference on Computing Sciences and Engineering (ICCSE 2015) in Kuwait from March 15-17, 2015; and the 1st Workshop on Graph Theory, Combinatorics, and Applications (GCTA-2019) at UAE University, Al Ain, UAE, on October 9-10, 2019. He is a lifetime member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Academy of Discrete Mathematics and Applications (ADMA). He has successfully guided five Ph.D. candidates, and presently four students are pursuing their Ph.D. under his supervision in various applications of graph theory.
He has co-authored four books in engineering and applied mathematics. Currently, alongside his role as a Professor of Mathematics, he serves as the coordinator of student activities at Shiv Nadar University, Chennai.
