Dr. J. Bhuvana earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University in 2015. In her doctoral research, she worked on multi-objective optimization and evolutionary computing, focusing on the design of memetic algorithms with adaptive weights, preferential local search and automatic termination schemes for solving complex optimization problems.
With over 27 years of teaching, research and academic administration experience, Dr. Bhuvana began her academic career at A.V.C. College of Engineering in 1998 and joined SSN College of Engineering in 2006. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SSN School of Engineering, Shiv Nadar University Chennai.
Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Video Analytics, Edge AI, Intelligent Surveillance Systems and Multimodal Learning, with focus on video anomaly detection, explainable AI, and edge intelligence for real-world applications in surveillance, healthcare, wildlife monitoring, and natural language processing. Dr. Bhuvana is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Professional Member of the ACM, and a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
