We are thrilled to share that our team has been selected as one of the top 18 finalists from a pool of 2,000 registrations and 701 innovative ideas in the prestigious i2I (Ideas to Impact) Challenge hosted by Wipro Earthian and IIT Madras! Our students developed a solar-powered autonomous beach-cleaning rover, built under a grant of ₹50,000 sanctioned by IIT Madras and Wipro Earthian. They demonstrated a working prototype at the IIT Madras Research Park on August 9, 2024.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students—Irfan Ahmed (AI & DS), Swaathi S. (IoT), Sasha Vinod (IoT), and Saeshwaran A. (IoT)—over the past three months. The team conducted field testing at Kovalam Beach to evaluate the prototype.
We would like to thank IIT Madras and Wipro Earthian for providing us with this opportunity, and our mentor, Madhan Kumar P., for his invaluable guidance, without which this project wouldn’t have been possible. Most importantly, we want to thank our fellow classmates, faculty and staff who stood by us throughout this journey.
