Mudivili, the SNUC Tamil Club, successfully organized Thai Vasantham ’26 on January 12, 2026, at Academic Block 1, bringing alive the festive spirit of Pongal through a grand cultural celebration. The event, open to the public, witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of nearly 500 participants and attendees, making it a memorable day of tradition and community bonding.
The celebrations commenced with the traditional preparation of Pongal in front of AB1, symbolizing gratitude and abundance. Adding colour to the morning was Kolappotti, the Rangoli competition, where seven teams showcased creativity within a 40-minute time frame. Simultaneously, Musical Chairs near the Golden Stairs kept the energy high, with four lively rounds marked by excitement and student participation.
The cultural segment featured electrifying dance performances by SNUC’s official dance clubs, Rhythm and Ameya, followed by soulful musical renditions by Isai – The Music Club of SNUC. A high-energy DJ session further amplified the festive mood, drawing students together in celebration.
Post-lunch activities included traditional games such as Uriyadi and a fiercely contested Tug of War at the volleyball court, which saw intense matches and cheering crowds.
In conclusion, Thai Vasantham ’26 stood as a vibrant reflection of Tamil culture, unity, and student enthusiasm—an event that truly celebrated heritage with heart and harmony.
