Driving Sustainable Innovation: AquaNexus from SNUC Among Top 38 Finalists at Ideas2Impact 2.0!
We are thrilled to share that our team has been selected among the Top 38 finalists out of 3,500+ participants in the prestigious Ideas2Impact Challenge 2.0, hosted by IIT Madras!
Our students developed AquaNexus, a cost-effective AI + IoT-powered automated wastewater treatment system that enables real-time phosphate detection at one-tenth the cost of conventional sensors, coupled with AI-driven process control and nutrient recovery for sustainable agriculture — promoting a circular economy. The team presented their innovation at the Ideas2Impact 2.0 Grand Finale, held on October 25, 2025, at IIT Madras.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and determination of our students — Tamojita Chatterjee (IoT) and Pratham Jain (IoT) — who have worked tirelessly to build and refine their solution through months of prototyping, testing, and iteration.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to IIT Madras, the Ideas2Impact team, Wipro Foundation and Wipro Earthian for providing this incredible platform to showcase student-led innovation. Special thanks to our mentors, Mr. Madhankumar P and Dr. Vaishali Chaudhary, for their constant guidance and support throughout this journey.
We would also like to thank the faculty, research scholars and lab staff of Shiv Nadar University Chennai for their encouragement and for creating an ecosystem that nurtures innovation and research.
Together, we are moving towards a smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable future!
