Together for a Cleaner Tomorrow: Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 at Shiv Nadar University Chennai
In alignment with the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 (SHS 2025) campaign and its inspiring theme “Swachhotsav – Celebrating Cleanliness,” Shiv Nadar University Chennai proudly observed the initiative on 13th October 2025. The event reflected the “Whole of Society” and “Whole of Government” approach by bringing together students, faculty, and administrative staff in a joint effort toward Sampoorna Swachhata.
As part of the campaign, members of the SNU Chennai community participated in a series of activities promoting cleanliness, sustainability, and civic responsibility. A spirited Shramdaan drive – “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” saw volunteers joining hands to clean and beautify key areas on campus. Efforts were directed toward the Transformation of Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs) and Clean Public Spaces, ensuring neglected zones were revitalized into hygienic and welcoming environments.
A creative “Waste to Art” showcase added colour and consciousness to the event, as students turned discarded items into art pieces symbolizing sustainability and innovation. There was also a strong emphasis on Clean Green Utsav, with students promoting eco-friendly and zero-waste celebrations.
In addition, a series of discussions and interactive sessions encouraged awareness about RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) practices and mindful littering, emphasizing individual responsibility in maintaining a clean environment. The importance of SafaiMitra Suraksha and dignity of sanitation workers was also highlighted.
Through collaboration, creativity, and compassion, SNU Chennai transformed the campaign into a vibrant celebration of civic duty and environmental consciousness. Together, we move closer to realizing the dream of a cleaner, greener, and healthier India.
