Dr. A. Chandrasekaran earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Radiation and Molecular Spectroscopy through collaborative research with the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Department of Atomic Energy, Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu. During his doctoral research, he developed extensive expertise in advanced analytical instrumentation and characterization techniques, including Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA), Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (ED-XRF), and NaI gamma-ray spectrometry. His research interests encompass environmental radioactivity, trace elemental analysis, mineral characterization, and the assessment of naturally occurring radionuclides in environmental matrices. In 2014, Dr. A. Chandrasekaran presented his research on “Radioactivity and Cancer Risk Assessment” at the 4th Asian and Oceanic Congress on Radiation Protection (IRPA) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has made significant contributions to postgraduate research mentoring, having successfully supervised five Ph.D. scholars to completion. Currently, two additional doctoral candidates are pursuing their research under his guidance.
