Dr. B. Bharathi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering with over 28 years of teaching and research experience. She obtained her Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering, with her doctoral research focusing on speaker verification using speaker-specific text. Her research interests include Speech Processing, Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Multimodal Language Technologies, with a special focus on speech technologies for Indian languages. She has published more than 160 research papers in reputed international journals and conferences, including Springer, IEEE, ACM, and ACL venues, and has successfully guided 2 Ph.D. scholars to completion while currently supervising 5 Ph.D. scholars. She has served as the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator for externally funded research projects sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Tamil Virtual Academy, focusing on automatic speaker verification, speech-enabled systems, and real-time multi-dialect speech recognition for Tamil. She has organized international conferences, faculty development programmes, and workshops; delivered invited talks at national and international forums; and served as a session chair and reviewer for reputed conferences and journals. Her outstanding contributions to research and teaching have been recognized through the Outstanding Faculty in Engineering Award from the Venus International Foundation, multiple Best Teacher Awards from SSN College of Engineering, and the Best Paper Award for her research in speech processing.
