Dr. Poulomi Chakrabarty joined SNU Chennai (SNUC) as an Assistant Professor (Grade II) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in July 2025. Before joining SNUC, she worked as an Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay, in the 2D Materials and Devices group, from January 2023 to March 2025. She also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), from August 2021 to January 2023. She completed her Ph.D. in December 2021 at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP), on the topic of soft-patterning and instability-mediated hybrid nanostructures for optoelectronic devices. She obtained an M.Tech. in Nanoscience and Technology from Jadavpur University and a B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the West Bengal University of Technology. She has published numerous research papers in international journals and has presented her work in various national and international conferences (IEEE, ACS, MRS, EMRS, etc.).
Her research interests include optical sensors, machine vision, and the design of optoelectronic systems, with a focus on integrating advanced materials and nanostructures to develop high-performance, application-oriented solutions.
