The M. Tech. in Manufacturing Engineering and Automation program offered by SSN School of Engineering equips graduates with the skills to become leaders in the Manufacturing sector. This program is a mix of traditional production knowledge with the latest technologies including
- robotics,
- automation,
- sustainable welding processes,
- advanced materials for Manufacturing,
- additive and hybrid production,
- digital twins,
- Internet of Things (IoT), and
- AI-based optimization of the manufacturing process.
Students acquire practical experience in state-of-the-art laboratories for automation, additive Manufacturing, robotics, simulation, metrology, and non-destructive testing (NDT), as well as exposure to the world through capstone projects and industry pilot programs. Graduates become industry-competent professionals who are innovative, problem solvers, and able to learn throughout their lives.

The curriculum aims to produce engineering professionals who are well-rounded and skilled in designing, implementing, and managing advanced production systems that align with Industry 4.0 requirements.
Core courses include Theory of Metal Cutting, Advanced Casting and Welding Processes, Materials for Manufacturing, and production and control systems.
Advanced topics: additive/hybrid Manufacturing, adaptive systems, and sustainable processes.
Automation & robotics: PLCs, SCADA, motion control, industrial robotics.
Digital Manufacturing: CAD/CAM, digital twins, IoT, AI, and Industrial analytics.
Laboratory and Applied Training: Automation lab: Manufacturing processes like Welding, FMS, Process automation, Simulation & Design lab, Additive Manufacturing Lab, Robotics & Data analytics lab, Metrology and NDT.
Electives in human–robot collaboration, supply chain analytics, cyber-physical systems, and capstone projects for real-world experience.
