M. Tech. in Environmental Science and Technology

The M. Tech. in Environmental Science and Technology offered by SSN School of Engineering is a multidisciplinary postgraduate program that prepares future-ready professionals to address urgent global challenges in environment and sustainability. By combining engineering principles with environmental science, ecological systems, and sustainable technologies, the program enables students to develop practical solutions for:

  • pollution control,
  • wastewater treatment,
  • solid waste management,
  • climate change mitigation, and
  • resource recovery.

Students gain hands-on expertise with advanced laboratory instrumentation including spectrophotometry, chromatography, atomic absorption spectroscopy, environmental sensors, and bioreactors, supported by training in modern monitoring techniques. To complement laboratory skills, the program builds computational proficiency in MATLAB, Python, COMSOL, and ASPEN Plus, empowering students to perform process modelling, simulation, and optimization for environmental applications.

This unique blend of theory, practice, and sustainability-driven applications equips graduates to become skilled environmental engineers, consultants, researchers, and innovators, capable of shaping a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.

To impart advanced knowledge in pollution control, waste management, and sustainable resource utilization.

To develop practical expertise in environmental instrumentation, process modelling, and computational tools.

To promote innovation in renewable energy systems, circular economy solutions, and climate adaptation strategies.

To prepare graduates for impactful careers in industry, consultancy, research, and academia.

The curriculum places strong emphasis on life cycle assessment (LCA), circular economy practices, renewable energy integration, and climate resilience strategies, aligning closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and global Net Zero commitments. Students also engage in industry-oriented projects and interdisciplinary research, ensuring exposure to real-world problem solving and innovative technologies.
