Bio
Rajesh Vijayaraghavan is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. His research examines topics at the intersection of risk management, climate change, financial reporting, and corporate governance, with a particular focus on the role of financial institutions. He is also interested in the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence to address policy-relevant questions in banking.
Rajesh has taught courses in managerial accounting and performance evaluation, and financial accounting. Prior to his academic career, he worked in risk management at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York.
Rajesh holds a doctorate in Accounting and Management from Harvard Business School, Boston; a Master of Science from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, NY; and a Bachelor of Technology from the University of Madras, India.
Outside of academia, Rajesh enjoys spending time with his children, cooking, and exploring the outdoors.
