Dr. Jaydeep Mukherjee completed his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University in 2006 and was a Gold Medalist in Economics both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels from the same University. He has over 24 years of experience in academics. Prior to the association of SNU Chennai, he has served as Professor and Head at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi. He also served as visiting faculty in Economics at premier Institutes like JNU, IMI Delhi, IIM Raipur and IIM Sirmaur. He has done extensive professional development programmes on Shipping and Logistics organized by APEC-Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Centre at Port of Antwerp, Belgium and successfully completed Summer School on DSGE Modelling at University of Surrey, UK.
Dr. Mukherjee had conducted training programmes in India and abroad on various International Trade and Business-related courses to Government Officers at Angola and Mozambique, Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Statistical Service (ISS), and Indian Trade Service (ITS) Officers, Armed Forces (all three services), senior officers of PSUs like GAIL and Power-Grid, Commercial Team of Coromandel Fertilizers Limited, etc. He had completed 19 funded research projects sponsored by reputed organisations in India and abroad, namely, Walmart, International Finance Corporation (IFC) under World Bank, DFID-UK, PWC, Reserve Bank of India, different Ministries of the Government of India (namely, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, DPIIT, Department of AYUSH, etc.), Spices Board, Indian Embassy in Iran, etc.
Dr. Mukherjee had significant publications in top-tiered Scopus/ABDC indexed Journals. He has guided 8 Ph.D. scholars out of which 6 have been awarded their Doctorate. My articles on macroeconomics and trade related issues have been published in newspapers like Nikkei Asia, Mint, Hindu Business Line, etc. He is a passionate teacher. His teaching and research interests include Financial Economics, Macroeconomic Theory and Policy, International Macroeconomics, International Finance, Financial Econometrics, Derivatives and Risk Management, Global Business Environment, etc.
