Dr. Rohit completed his Ph.D in Economics from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He did his M.Phil in Planning and Development from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and MA in Economics from Madras Christian College. His research is in the area of applied macroeconomics and banking. He is also interested in topics related to behavioural economics.

Before joining SNU Chennai, Rohit was teaching at the School of Economics, NMIMS (Deemed to be University) Mumbai. He also worked with Dun and Bradstreet Mumbai as a Financial Analyst.  Rohit is a recipient of Commonwealth split-site Scholarship at the University of London. He was also awarded Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Professional Research Fellowship at the Cornell University.
