Dr. Rohit Kumar obtained his Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) from the Uttaranchal Board of Technical Education, Roorkee (UBTER), in 2003. He received the B.Tech. degree in CSE from Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow, in 2009, and M.Tech. degree in CSE from Atal Bihari Vajpayee – Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior, MP, India, in 2014. He completed his Ph.D. from Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee – International Institute of Information Technology (DSPM-IIIT), Naya  Raipur.

In 2010, he joined the department of CSE at Govt. Polytechnic Mallasalam, Almora, UK, India, as a Lecturer. Thereafter, he moved to Dehradun and worked withShivalik College of Engineering (SCE), Dehradun, UK, India. Later, he joinedPriyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), Nagpur, MH, India, as an Assistant Professor in 2015. He also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow under School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences (SIAS) at KREA University, Sri City, AP, India, in 2021. Subsequently, he joined SRM Institute of Science & Technology (SRMIST), Chennai, TN, India, and offered his services in the capacity of Research Assistant Professor in 2022.

He founded Learn Together Classes (LTC) in Dehradun in 2014. He cleared Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) multiple times, specifically in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017. He cleared AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test)-2/2014 and attended 11-Service Selection Board (SSB) in Allahabad. He qualified Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test (USET) and University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET)in 2015. He received an institute scholarship from Govt. of India during his M.Tech. tenure (2012-2014). He also received an institute scholarship from Govt. of Chhattisgarh during his Ph.D. tenure (2017-2021). Additionally, he is the Best Paper recipient for his work in IEEE ANTS-2019 conference. Furthermore, Mr. Kumar got elevated to IEEE senior member grade in 2022.

Currently, his research interests include Cyber Physical Systems(CPS), Software Defined Networking (SDN), Internet of Things (IoT), and Cloud Computingnetworks. He has published some of his research works in reputed International Conferences and SCI/SCIE Indexed Journals includingIEEE TNSM, IEEE Systems Journal, Computer Networks, etc. In addition to this, Mr. Kumar is a Life-Member/Member of different scientific and research-basedsocieties such as IEEE, CSI-INDIA, ISTE, ISDS, etc.
