Dr. Chaitanya Talreja is a distinguished economist whose research and contributions span various critical aspects of economic development, inequality, and demographic dynamics in India. He has authored notable publications, including “Service sector growth and inequality in India,” which analyzes household consumption spending, and “Why Services cannot be the Engine of Growth for India,” co-authored with Dr. Anirban Dasgupta, shedding light on key economic issues. With a focus on economic development strategies in the Global South, structural change, and Indian economy. He is currently delving into emerging research areas such as economic development policies, urban economics, and non-anthropocentric approaches to progress and conservation, emphasizing holistic social interactions’ impacts on humans and the environment.
